In the twilight of the ocean, a colorful jellyfish floats silently. Peter Agardy accentuates its parachute shape to emphasize the creature's alienness. It is as if the jellyfish was a traveler descending from another planet to the depths of the ocean -- the depths which seem like another planet to us.
The bell -- the jellyfish's rounded top -- glows golden from above, blue from below, highlighting that the jelly belongs to two worlds, the one of light, above, and of darkness, below. Its oral arms, curled like human hair, give the creature its only anthropomorphic touch. The composition is called Grace in Hurt -- reminding us that the sting of some jellies are harmful to humans.
Shore Thing uses the latest screen printing process using up to eleven colors to reproduce Agardy's art.The shirts are of the best quality preshrunk 6.1 ounce 100% cotton jersey.
