This is the Peter Agardy work that we are most inspired by -- the one that gives Shore Thing its " Reel Attitude!" Agardy's art sometimes gives human characteristics to the fish, to communicate his understanding of their character. Johnny Tuna acts the powerful fighter, rushing into the ring in this, Agardy's most human like portrayal. The smaller fish, his prey, can only scatter in the face of such an unrelenting force. Agardy uses light to portray the sheer energy of the speed of the tuna, with yellows and gold emanating from the fish as if on fire. The greens and yellows give depth and solidity to contrast the blues of the fish, giving him a 3D aspect. The drama of the motion is shown in the white plumes that scatter the light coming from above.
As much care has gone into the reproduction of this art as went into the original painting. A painstaking eleven color screen printing process makes the painting's theme -- the fighting fish, ready to fight prey or the fisherman pursuing the fighter -- practically jump off the shirt.
The shirts are of the best quality preshrunk 6.1 ounce 100% cotton jersey. They feature a feminine cut, tapered sleeves with hemmed cuffs, and taped neck and shoulders. The narrow 5/8" neck rib is quarter-turned to eliminate a center crease. The material, the construction, the processing and the art make the Peter Agardy Signature Series a unique mark of status for women who appreciate fishing
